Only 47% of Black Women Who Enter College Will Go On To Finish....

TWU Black Alumni at the Denton Meet and Greet

We can't ignore the data about Black women and higher education.

TWUBA exists to improve this statistical data for students at TWU and the world over.

TWUBA mission statement

Texas Woman's University Blacik Alumni (TWUBA) seeks to connect/reconect the rich history of the Black Alumni at Texas Woman's University by facilitating a sense of community.  TWUBA strives to be an inclusive association of graduates of African American, Caribbean, Aftican, or Black descendent alumni, faculty, and staff at TWU.  TWUBA supports current students through the mission of Texas Woman's University
.

This blog is created so that you can collaborate and have a discussion space beyond facebook.

There are many issues to be discussed that are relevant to the mission statement.  In order for this group to be effective, we must each bring a certain passion for the issues that effect all students.......... especially our young daughters.

I will continue to post to this blog.  I will reference and link other national and local bloggers whose message impact our cause.  We can use social media to let our voice be heard and our concerns be known.

From time to time I will link to other Black Alumni Groups

Check out Univsersity of Southern California's Black Alumni!!
If they can do this, so can we....

Launching TWUBA with Elected Officers and Planning a September Event

In Mid April TWUBA held its first official business meeting at the TWU former students associations homecomming.

This official meeting was highlighted with the election of officers and designation of  key committee formations by our newly elected president Dianne Randolph.

TWUBA's first official project is to plan for the celebration of the 50th year of integration of Texas Woman's University.  This celebration is in the planning stages, but we will need "all hands on deck"  to have a celebration worthy of the cause.

Please watch this blog and the FB page for further information about this as it developes.
